stamped with signature, numbered and stamped with the foundry mark 'Degas 14 A.A. HEBRARD CIRE PERDUE HER' (Lugt 658; on the top of the base)
bronze with dark brown patina
8 1⁄8 x 9 7⁄8 x 4 1⁄8 in. (20.5 x 25.1 x 10.4 cm.)
Original wax model conceived circa 1882-1895; this bronze version cast at a later date in an edition numbered A to T, plus two casts reserved for the Degas heirs and the founder Hébrard marked HER.D and HER, respectively
