Ensayo del lote

Man Carrying Umbrella and Pocketbook shares similarities with figures identified as Mexican throughout Bill Traylor’s oeuvre, particularly in its facial features. In the 1982 traveling exhibition at the Arkansas Arts Center and the Mississippi Museum of Art, the work was titled Mexican Carrying Umbrella and Pocketbook, though the figure’s mustache is less pronounced than in Traylor’s other depictions.
