JIMMY PAGE: AN EARLY HANDWRITTEN LETTER, 1962
A handwritten letter from Jimmy Page to his frequent pen pal, Ronnie Kellerman, head of the Jerry Lewis Fan Club, with original mailing envelope, n.d. but postmarked Epsom, Surrey, 6 July, 62, the letter written in peacock blue ink on both sides of two pages of lined notepaper, the letter beginning Dear Ronnie, I'm sorry for the lapse in correspondence but there has been a very good reason...I told you the discs would be ready in a couple of days but...they had messed up the transcription and had to have them done again...Anyway, you've got them now, I hope the recording is what you wanted, Page continues and enquires of Kellerman Have you heard from Sutch lately, his record didn't get anywhere over here, not enough publicity, Page tells Kellerman Liverpool groups seem to have swamped the scene over here, but the Beatles are the only ones ever good. I expect you've heard of them, Page later informs Kellerman In September I am going to Art School which will probably come as a surprise to you..., Page encloses a record, the L.P. is a new release called Chuck Berry on Stage on Chess Records, you can send whatever you like for the L.P., signed Your Pal, Jim; with an Emidisc 45 r.p.m. acetate record of Jerry Lee Lewis, with handwritten label affixed to the sleeve inscribed James Page, 34 Miles Road, Epsom, Surrey, England, additionally inscribed by Kellerman Tape sent to England to be made into a disc, made up and sent back to me by...
