Shea Stadium, August 15, 1965: Beatlemania was reaching its peak and the modern stadium concert was born. But before the Fab Four walked out to 56,000 screaming fans, they first needed a space to tune up, change clothes, clown around, and generally prepare themselves for what would be a record breaking performance. The Shea Stadium Umpire's room would ultimately serve this need. Mei Grey Group has identified this particular locker as 'R1', one of the lockers actually used as a changing room by two members of the group. This lot is accompanied by a Mei Grey letter and DVD of video footage of the band in the space. It carries an MLB hologram confirming Shea Stadium provenance.
