Kändler’s Taxa for 1740-1748 records: 1 Rephuhn in Lebend Grösse, als ein Gegner gegen ein schon gefertigtes Rephuhn, 3 Thlr. – [life-sized partridge, as a counterpart to an already completed partridge, 3 Thalers](1). A single model from the Ernst Schneider Collection, Munich, is illustrated by Rainer Rückert, Meissener Porzellan, Bayerischen Nationalmuseum, Munich, Exhibition Catalogue, Munich 1966, pl. 280, no. 1141, where he notes that the mold number for this model is 501, suggesting a date of 1743, but as there is a duplicate in the Meissen mold collection, a date of 1741 is also possible. In 1741 Kändler modeled a larger pair of partridges on grass, and in 1743 he collaborated with Ehder to produce a smaller pair.
