The form of the basin is almost identical to that made by Videau in 1755 as part of an extensive silver-gilt dessert service commissioned by the Middlesex baronet Sir John Fleming (b.c.1730-1763) of Brompton Park, for his wife Jane, daughter of William Coleman of Garnhay, Devon, most recently sold Christie's, New York, 17 May 2011, lot 194.
