THE CADDIES WITH MARK OF AYME VIDEAU, LONDON, 1749, THE CASE CIRCA 1770
Comprising two oblong tea caddies and a rectangular sugar box, the tea caddies on rectangular stepped base, the sugar box on four trefoil feet, each chased with architectural balustrades with birds and flower urns, Rococo scrolls and flowers on a matted ground, the caddies with sliding domed covers, the sugar box with hinged cover, all chased with flowers and leaves and applied with bud finials, each engraved with a coat-of-arms and crest within a Rococo cartouche, marked underneath, on sides of both caddies and in cover of sugar box, in a fitted satinwood case, circa 1770, with banding and inlaid with paterae, with silver ring handle and key

The arms and crest are those of Elton, baronets of Clevedon Court, co. Somerset, for Sir Abraham Elton, 3rd Bt. (1703–1761) or his brother Sir Abraham Isaac Elton, 4th Bt. (1717–1790).
