This unusual vessel has a carinated body, with finely engraved ornamental bands of guilloche and wave pattern. The base is cast with and egg-and-dart molding. The handle is in the form of a nude female figure leaning in a relaxed pose against the rim, with a bandolier worn diagonally over her left shoulder. On her body is a retrograde vertical inscription in dotted letters, “udai,” continuing horizontally on the vessel below, “suth[i]na,” which, taken together, reads “votive of Udai.”
