See a polychrome-glazed figure of a toad of a comparable model from the Ann & Gordon Getty Collection sold at Christie’s New York, The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 3 English and European Furniture, Porcelain and Silver, Day Sale, 22 October 2022 , lot 362. For other models of toads, see a Kangxi pair of turquoise-glazed biscuit toads from the Xavier Givaudan Collection, Geneva, illustrated in Daisy Lion-Goldschmidt & Jean-Claude Moreau-Gobard, Chinese Art, London, 1980, no. 157, p. 350, and late 17th century turquoise-glazed biscuit toad-form container from the Copeland Collection illustrated in W.R. Sargent, The Copeland Collection - Chinese and Japanese Ceramic Figures, Salem, 1991, no. 1, pp. 28-29.

The dating is consistent with the Oxford Authentification Ltd thermoluminescence test no. P121g46, 25 June 2021.
