Il est représenté assis en vajrasana, vêtu d'une robe de moine souple lui couvrant les deux épaules et dont les plis ondulants retombent élégamment devant lui. Ses yeux sont grand ouverts, sa bouche souriante lui conférant une expression sereine.

The dating is consistent with the Re. S. Artes thermoluminescence test no. R 144694A-2, 9 June 2022.

This gilt-wood figure, with its very fine and defined features, could be a portrait of an unidentified Arhat. His hand gesture is interesting to notice as it is very rarely depicted on paintings or sculptures, it can be seen on a monumental figure of the Arhat Mahakasyapa sold at Bonhams New York, 14 March 2016, lot 8037.
