Our Exagmination round his Factification for Incamination of Work in Progress, Paris: Shakespeare, 1929, 8°, FIRST EDITION, ERIC GILL'S COPY, front free endpaper inscribed in pencil: "Eric Gill from Evan R. Gill, Feb. 22, 1931," original cream printed wrappers (some light soiling, backstrip browned and chipped, bookseller's label to verso of front wrapper), preserved in scarlet morocco-backed box. [Slocum & Cahoon B10: "Contains, in addition to brief quotations from Work in Progress as it had been appearing in transition, a passage concerning Swift and blindness; p. 109, which was not later incorporated in Finnegans Wake. The "Letters of Protest" are reputed to have been written by Joyce himself.]
