TWO PROTO-NAZCA TEXTILE FRAGMENTS

The border fragments from a large mantle woven in cotton and camelid fiber in stem-stitch embroidery in cotton and camelid fiber with seated shamans, each encircled at the waist by a sinuous serpent adorned with a whiskered feline mask, and grasping the snake’s head in the upraised hand, in shades of red, blue, green, ocher and black.

Parties de bordure d’un grand manteau tissées et brodées au point de tige en coton et en fibres de camélidé avec des motifs de chamans assis qui sont chacun encerclé au niveau de la taille par un serpent sinueux orné d’un masque de félin à barbe et qui saisissent la tête du serpent avec leurs mains levées ; dans les tons rouge, bleu, vert, ocre et noir.
