A late 17th Century lidded tankard
of plain tapering circular form, on a rim foot and with a scroll handle and rising flattened hinged cover with reeded border and scrolling foliate thumb piece, the front of the body engraved with a crest, maker's initials E.G., London, the date letters indistinct, probably 1681 or1691 - 5¾in. (14.50cm.), 17.75oz.
