Translation of story book reads:
' To my playmate Dietmar Gluck. When Mother was two tears old I was her playmate. Uncle and Auntie Ruth were my friends always. Now I am thirty years old and I have stood many windy storms. I have felt alot of happiness and alot of pain on my way. We were separated, and no one remembered me. Now I am old and wrinkled. Humans can be hard as stone, but some have hearts for animals. If you look deep into my eyes you will known what I am feeling. Grandma had a heart for me and took me out of the dark cupboard, and Aunt Ruth keeps Teddy away from pain. Now I stand here infront of you, ready for new games. My dear Dietmar, if only you had liked me. So please let us be friends every time, every hour. Play with me like Mother did.
Stay healthy, and when you turn thirty years old remember me and your sunny childhood, as l am wishing it back right now - Your teddy
