The present work is an illustration for a story by Robert W. Chambers, The girl Phillippa: A Strange Adventure in Love and War, chronicled in Nash's and Pall Mall Magazine, February to December 1916. Craig studied at the Lambeth School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools.
