Fine hand-coloured ornithological illustrations from drawings by John Gerard Keulemans. The text covers 371 species, including 24 newly described and 47 peculiar to the island. Hand-coloured engraved map, 34 hand-coloured lithographic plates, one full-page wood-engraved plate (a few insignificant spots on a few leaves at beginning and end of volumes). Contemporary green half morocco (rubbed, but sometime neatly furbished). Provenance: T.M. Pike (donative bookplate).
