A SMALL PALE GREYISH-GREEN JADE ARCHAISTIC VASE
SONG-MING DYNASTY, 13TH-16TH CENTURY
Made in imitation of a bronze zhi, the vase of pear shape and oval section is raised on a pedestal foot encircled by a bow-string band and is carved around the waisted neck with a band enclosing a dragon on each side separated by whorl motifs on the narrow sides. The semi-translucent stone of pale greyish-green color has some added brown color on one side.
