The style of this drawing, which passed through the collections of some of the greatest British collectors, points to an artist from Parma from the first half of the 16th Century. It is reminiscent of the style of Parmese artists in the circle of Parmigianino, like Girolamo Mirola, who collaborated with Jacopo Bertoia.
