A JADE 'MYTHICAL BEASTS' PLECTRUM-SHAPED PENDANT
SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The jade is vividly carved in openwork with a sinuous panchi being attacked on either side by a bixie and a chihu, all surrounding the ‘archer’s thumb ring’-shaped ornament with further incised details. The stone is of a pale greyish-white tone with highlights ranging from a dark brown colour to russet tone.
