A TIANHUANG 'LIONS' SEAL
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The rectangular seal is incised on two sides with an inscription bearing the signature of the carver He Xingzhou, surmounted by a finial in the form of a cub lion clambering on its mother's back. The seal face is carved with a poetic inscription.
