A PALE CELADON JADE 'HORSE AND MONKEY' GROUP
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The group is carved and pierced as a recumbent horse with its head turned towards a monkey clambering on its back, its tail tucked under its body. The mane, tail and monkey's backbone are finely detailed. The stone is of an even pale celadon tone with areas of russet skin skillfully worked into the design.
