George Scott Esq. of Woolston Hall, Essex, armorial bookplate. Sold at the Scott sale, March 1781 to Mr. Woodhull with a note in his hand dated March 21st 1781 referring to the purchase price of 1. 16. 00. Manuscript and other additions include an a.l.s. of 39 lines from George Vertue to his brother James Vertue of Bath, apparently given to Scott by James Vertue, referring to indiscreet remarks that he has made about Inigo Jones, and a mezzotint portrait of Abraham Simons (Symonds) after Lely, with two inscriptions on verso recording its gift to George Scott by Henry Robert Morland in 1752. It was later purchased by Woodhull at the Scott sale.
