A LARGE BRONZE ARCHAISTIC HU-SHAPED VASE
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The vase is cast with a pear-shaped body rising from a tall molded foot to a slight flared neck flanked by a pair of handles issuing from bovine heads, and is decorated with three bands of wave patterns incorporating stylized taotie masks, all reserved on a leiwen ground below a narrow band of leiwen pattern.
