This model is a very stylized version of the equestrian sculpture. This theme is recurrent in Maurice Calka's work. The artist executed numerous monumental projects on this subject matter, of which two soldered metal sculptures for the cities of Angoulême and Enghien as well as a bronze version for the city of Nice
