KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The bowl is finely decorated to the exterior in slip with detached cloud scrolls above a band of upright lappets encircling the foot, covered overall with a clear glaze.

The use of slip-decoration seen on the current bowl is closely related to fahua vessels. Compare to a nearly identical bowl in the Nanjing Museum, illustrated in The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p. 106 (fig. 1).
