For a related textile panel with a field of seraphims within medallions interspersed with cross treflee, see Errera Isabelle, Catalogue d'Etoffes Anciennes et Modernes, Bruxelles, 1927, p.342, cat. 400. There it is dated to the 17th century and attributed to Armenia or Greece. Another is published in R.H. Kevorkian and Berdj Achdjian, Tapis et Textiles Armeniens, Marseille, 1991, cat.117, p.127. Although only a detail is illustrated, it is said to come from a medieval ecclesiastical cape.
