Al-Siqilli is known to have exchanged letters with the famous Andalusian scholar and poet Ibn Hazm. Ibn Hazm wrote a short epistle al-risala al-balqa fi radd 'ala 'abd al-haqq bin muhammad al-siqilli, known to be a riposte to juridical questions developped by al-Siqilli. Al-Siqilli died in Alexandria in 1074 AD.
