A CELADON JADE ARCHAISTIC WINE VESSEL, JUE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The vessel is finely carved to the exterior of the body with two archaistic taotie, separated by three high-relief vertical flanges and an animal-head loop handle to one side. The flared neck is carved with triangular blades decorated with stylised geometric scrolls and the caps of the two posts rising from the rim are carved in the form of overlapping floral petals. The stone is of an even pale celadon tone.
