The recessed-leg table, with legs of either square or rounded section joined by pairs of stretchers, is one of the most immediately recognisable and successful forms found in classical Chinese furniture construction. Compare with a slightly earlier example sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 28 November 2012, lot 2003.
