The arms are those of Osborne quartering others impaling Carroll, for Francis Osborne, Marquess of Camarthen, later 7th Duke of Leeds (1798-1859) and his wife Louisa Catherine (d.1874), daughter of Richard Caton, of Maryland and his wife Mary, daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollstown, Maryland, U.S.A. They were married in 1828. The unusual impaling of the husband's arms with his wife's maternal arms be result from her father being non-armigerous.
