AN ARCHAISTIC TWO-HANDLED TRIPOD VESSEL
17TH CENTURY
The bowl-form vessel is supported on three paw-form feet below fierce animal masks. The body is cast to the exterior with a band of archaistic scrolls reserved on a leiwen ground, below a band of stiff leaves. The sides are applied with two stylised animal mask handles with loose rings.
15 ½ in. (39.4 cm.) diam.
