A 3-page autograph letter, signed as Jenny Goldschmidt and Lind, from Putney, 1st July 1856, the paper embossed with her initials, to an unknown recipient, apologising for not writing and stating: "If life and time was not so short one could do much more ... indeed suffering is laid upon us from God's Love and Mercy, and He tells us many secrets during the hours of trial! but time and circumstance prevents us to carrying out many things we should wish to accomplish whatever good you might have heard of me -- remember there is no merit in the well-doings! and human excellence is but dust ...."
