Standing with his weight on his left leg, the right relaxed, nude but for a fruit-laden animal skin pinned at his right shoulder, falling across his upper torso and supported in the crook of his left arm, with pronounced iliac crests, remains of strut on the right thigh and of a larger support beneath left buttock

Sylvanus was the native Italic god of the woodlands and agricultural fertility. His cult gained popularity in the 2nd Century A.D., first under Hadrian, with Antinous being identified with the deity, and later under Antoninus Pius, who used images of the god to promote his agricultural policies.
