A Mughal copy of the renowned mystical poetry of Rumi, Persian manuscript on paper, 343ff. plus one fly-leaf, each folio with 20ll. of small black nasta'liq script arranged in four columns with gold double-divisions, titles in red script within gold illuminated cartouches, text within gold and polychrome rules, with catchwords, six finely illuminated headpieces in gold and polychrome, each chapter opening with a bifolio with gold illuminated margins, occasional marginal notes, two colophons mentioning the place where it was copied as 'baldat Kashmir', some folios lacking, reverse of f.1 with a combat of mythical beasts finely painted in gold, in 19th century stamped and lacquered floral binding
