A FINE AND UNUSUAL PAIR OF ENAMELED BOWLS
19TH CENTURY
Each bowl has deep, rounded sides that flare slightly at the everted rim, and is decorated with a wide band of archaistic dragons in puce against a yellow ground, all between a leaf-tip border in pale turquoise below and a ruyi border in puce and pale turquoise above, and within narrow gilt bands bordered in iron-red. The base is inscribed with an iron-red four-character hallmark, Qing Xiu Tang zhi (Made for the Hall of Celebrating Self Improvement).
