Specialising in the manufacture of 18th century furniture models, Gervais-Maximilien-Eugène Durand is recorded as having worked at both 12 rue de la Cerisaie and 62 rue Saint-Antoine during the last quarter of the 19th Century. He was awarded the silver medal at the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle. The atelier altered its name to Durand et fils when his son joined the firm in 1890.
