The present lot corresponds exactly to a drawing from the Luton Hoo archive with the stamp of the architectural firm of Charles Mewès and hand-written inscription 'Lobby, Plafonnier, Mr Wernher'. Lanterns of the same pattern were sold Works of Art from the Wernher Collection, Christie's, South Kensington, 7 July 2000, lot 92, £26,000.
