THREE JADE CARVINGS
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644) AND LATER
The first is a pale celadon and russet jade carving of a recumbent qilin, carved with its head slightly turned towards a bat, bianfu, resting on its back. The second is a pale celadon jade plaque, carved and pierced with a recumbent qilin confronting a scrolling dragon, both with incised decoration. The third is a dark and grey jade carving of a recumbent mythical beast with incised details to the head.
The largest 2¾ in. (6.3 cm.)
