Tasting note: Opaque, very intense ‘modern’; extravagantly, almost explosively positive and distinctive nose; very sweet, full, rich, good texture and length but very tannic. Though impressive and concentrated, it was far less, tarry than in the previous vintages I had so disliked. Frankly, not my idea of St- Emilion. I still prefer the drinkable and good- value Pavies made by the previous owner. (*****) Now- 2016 Selected wines from a very wide range tasted in April 2006 M.B.
