Arabic manuscript on paper, 199ff. plus two fly-leaves, each folio with 11ll. of black naskh, gold and polychrome rosette verse markers, text panels outlined in gold and black, occasional marginal commentary in black and red naskh, sometimes contained within gold-outlined medallions, headings in white naskh on gold and polychrome illuminated panels, three full-page illustrations of Mecca and Medina within the text, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece, four further similar headpieces within the text, signed within the text, one folio loose but retained, in later brown paper covered brown morocco, cream paper doublures, binding stained
