The double-edged blade with central gutter tapering to point, one side of the blade decorated with a gold-overlaid rectangular cartouche containing a line of elegant naskh issuing scrolls and cusped palmettes, the other side with a semi-circular cartouche containing a marker's inscription issuing half palmettes, the hilt of typical form with cusped pommel, the surface decorated with nielloed silver and blue enamel decoration within granulated silver-gilt borders, the highly decorated sheath similarly decorated with nielloed silver scrolling floral vine, an ownership description at the top, gilded belt hook and rounded chappe, a raised section and pouch at the top for a smaller dagger, the reverse similar, small losses to the leather covering on the sheath
