A GOLD-INLAID BRONZE SWORD
WARRING STATES PERIOD, 5TH-4TH CENTURY BC
The long, tapering blade has beveled edges and a distinct median ridge. The diamond-shaped guard, the hilt with two circular flanges, and the circular, dished pommel, are each decorated with taotie masks and gold-inlaid bird scroll. The bronze has extensive malachite-green encrustation.
