With characteristic head with long slender spike, slightly curved axe-blade and pointed rear fluke, both sides etched with panels of scrollwork respectively including a large trophy of arms on one side and the crowned arms of the Electors of Saxony on the other, shortened side-straps, and later wooden haft studded with brass-headed tacks
