Super-chancery 2° (299 x 207mm). Collation: a-g10 G12 h-x10 y12 aa-xx10 yy12 1-910 108. 554 leaves. 56 lines and headline, double column. Type: 2/6:150G, 3:74G. Contemporary rubrication alternating in red or blue, major initials in interlocking red and blue, pages ruled in red, an illuminated historiated or ornamental initials opening the prologue and each of 8 books, opening text page with decorate headline and emblatic armorial, the illuminated work probably late 19th-century. (First fore-margins lightly frayed, small dampstain at some gutters and fore-margins, an occasional small stain, final leaf torn without loss, lightly stained and a little trimmed.) Early 20th-century half diced russia over wooden boards, two fore-edge clasps (jointly a little split). Provenance: A.H. Bright (bookplate).
