Comprising: a chalice; a paten; a pair of cruets and a stand; the chalice on shaped circular foot, knopped stem and tapering bowl, the foot enamelled with scenes from the New Testament, the bowl with a scene of the crucifixion below a band of applied gems, the paten with Paschal Lamb, the cruets each of bulbous form, similarly decorated with bosses of saints between strapwork, the foliate final terminating in a gem, upon a shaped oval stand flat-chased with strapwork and fruiting vines incorporating enamel lozenge panels, on a matted ground, marked below rim and underneath chalice, on rim of paten, underneath and to cover bezel of cruets, underneath stand

A silver-gilt chalice and paten with comparable enamel decoration also by Trioullier in the collection of The Petit Palais, Paris.

Charles-Eugène Trioullier exhibited 'Church plate and bronzes' at the 1862 International Exhibition in London (see International Exhibition of 1862, Official Catalogue of the Industrial Department, London, p. 200).
