The present cabinet demonstrates the superior qualities of form, chasing and construction of Henry Dasson's workshop, which was renowned for producing furniture and objets d'art of the very highest quality, and particularly distinguished for its fine quality of ormolu mounts. With its superbly cast and chased floral garlands, and rich inlays, specifically to the ribbon trellis parquetry centred by a myriad of unique floral sprays, this cabinet is evocative of the most luxurious French furniture created in the late 19th century.
