A closely related portion of a skirt border is in the Textile Museum, Washington, cat.81.54b. This distinctive pattern of frieze of vases is attributed to Crete (James Trilling, Aegean Crossroads, Greek Island Embroideries in the Textile Museum, Washington, 1983, cat. 58, p.17 and pp.120-121).
