The painting, executed in gouache on paper, depicts a Manchu noblewoman seated on a throne chair and dressed in a yellow chaogua, worn over an apricot-colored robe. In her right hand she holds a green-colored snuff bottle, and her left hand is raised to her face to take snuff.
