A CIZHOU-TYPE BROWN SLIP-PAINTED OVOID JAR
JIN/YUAN DYNASTY (1115-1368)
The upper body is freely painted in brown with foliate scroll alternating with clouds between line borders on a white slip and under a clear glaze that also covers the brown slip on the lower body and foot. There are small foliate sprays between the four ribbed strap handles applied to the high shoulder below the brown, lipped mouth rim.
