Acquired by John Morris (1740-1816) or one of his descendants for Avenue House, Ampthill, Bedfordshire and by descent at Avenue House until sold by Swaffield & Co. Auctioneers, April 1906, traditionally identified as lot 470.
Discovered by Professor Sir Albert Richardson hanging in a cake shop, circa 1920, purchased and reinstated at Avenue House.
